Enjoy a full-day private excursion from your accommodation in Rome into the famous region of Umbria, known for its spectacular cities, history, countryside, food, and wines!

Today your professional English-speaking driver/guide will take you to two of the most beautiful and important Italian cities, both Unesco World Heritage sites: Assisi and Spoleto.

Departing directly from your accommodation in Rome, we will drive across the enchanting countryside of Lazio and Umbria regions towards Assisi, where you will have time to relax and explore this incredible city, perched on a hilltop with a breathtaking view of the surrounding countryside. Assisi has always been a popular destination as it was the town where San Francesco and Santa Chiara spent their whole lives. Here you will have the opportunity to enter the Basilica di San Francesco built in 1228 and stroll around the narrow alleys of this magical town.

Later on we will head to Spoleto, a marvelous city in the heart of Umbria with its majestic fortress, Rocca Albornoziana, and the Duomo of Santa Maria Assunta, completed in 1227 and housing the tomb of Fra Filippo Lippi.

We will take you to a local winery where you will enjoy some of the best local wines and delicacies. The cost is 60 Euros per person to be paid only in cash to the driver at the end of the tour.
